The Sunday of Orthodoxy, the feast of the Restoration of the sacred icons, was celebrated with due splendor and solemnity on Sunday, March 13, at the Holy Metropolitan Church of Saint George Nigritas.

Orthodox Sunday commemorates the restoration of the Holy Icons after a long period of Iconoclasm. On the first Sunday of Lent in 843 AD, Saint Theodora together with her son Emperor Michael, liturgized and restored the Holy Icons together with the clergy and the people.
